Dr Bob Cavey
Dr Bob Cavey graduated from the University of Melbourne with honours in 1989.
After working for 6 years in a mixed animal practice in Mansfield Victoria, he then travelled overseas during which he worked extensively in the United Kingdom.
In 1997 Bob then started a new Veterinary Clinic in Rowville which grew rapidly, and successfully managed it for 12 years. In 2010 Bob was admitted as a Member of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists and completed the examination in Small Animal Surgery.
Bob has also been an Accredited Aqis Quarantine Veterinarian for more than 19 years and started Ultimate Veterinary Clinic in 2011 which now has 7 Veterinarians.
Bob enjoys small animal surgery and playing with his French Bulldog “Bentley”.
Dr Julie Ward
Julie grew up in Melbourne and graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2006. Since graduating she worked in several mixed and small animal practices in Melbourne and in the UK. She joined the team at Ultimate Vet Clinic at the start of 2012, soon after the clinic opened. In 2014 she completed a year long postgraduate University of Sydney course in Small Animal Medicine, then was admitted to the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in 2015, after passing examinations in Small Animal Medicine.
Her veterinary interests include dermatology, medicine and oncology.
She lives in Belgrave with her husband and two young kids. Her fur family includes her cats Ash and Maddie, her dog Olive, and her horses Papunya and Ludo.
In her spare time she enjoys horseriding, bushwalking and travelling.
Dr Amanda was raised in Melbourne, but the calling of sunshine took her to Queensland for 14 years. During this time she studied Vet science and graduated the University of Queensland in July 2016. After working in a small animal clinic for a year, she decided to move back to Melbourne with her partner and fur family. She began working for Ultimate Vet Clinic in November 2017.
Her passion is Feline medicine. Having been owned by cats all her life, she very much understands their actions, behaviours and how to handle them. She can’t wait to meet your furry felines and help them be the healthiest and happiest cat possible.
At home, she has 3 domestic cats – Reginald, Mary and Eddie. An Australian Cattle Dog – Kimmie, and a Staffy – Ruby. When not busy with all the animals she enjoys spending time at the beach.
Dr Paula de Klerk
Paula joined the Ultimate Vet Clinic team in Jan 2017. She grew up in South Africa and graduated from the university of Pretoria, Onderstepoort, in 2006. She worked in mixed animal practice in South Africa for 2 years, followed by 5 years in the UK where she worked as a locum in both large and small animal practice in between traveling and exploring Europe, Asia, South America and Africa.
She moved to Melbourne in October 2013 and has been working in welfare and small animal practice since. Her special interests are small animal surgery, dentistry and ophthalmology. She is currently doing the advanced surgery distance education course through the university of Sydney.
Paula is the proud mum of Sasha an 8yr old JRT x and two very excitable chooks, Henrietta and The Kernell. She lives in the Dandenong Ranges and in her spare time enjoys swimming, hiking, mtn biking and gardening.
She is looking forward to meeting you and your fury family members.
Dr Seung Kang graduate from Massey University, New Zealand in 2009, and has worked in small animal practices both in Adelaide and Bayside in VIC. He has gained a large amount of both surgical and medical experience, and worked as a team leader and main surgeon for the last 6 years. He particularly enjoys orthopaedic and advanced soft tissue surgeries. He successfully completed a Postgraduate Surgery course at Sydney University in 2017 and is currently undertaking a Master’s degree in Surgery at Massey University.
He also achieved a Certificate of Veterinay Acupuncture through International Veterinary Acupuncture Society after intensive training and examinations in 2013. He has treated many musculoskeletal conditions in both dogs and cats with acupuncture and Chinese herbs. He aims to deliver the best treatment combined with western and eastern medicine.
Living locally in Berwick with his wife Hannah and two young children Lina and Noah, he enjoys spending his time with his family and three dogs: two Pugaliers (Boonam and Booja) and Beagle (Boodong).
Kylie completed her veterinary nursing certificates II, III and IV in 1999/2000 while working as a junior with Dr bob.
She then went on to do her emergency/critical care and advanced surgery certificate.
After working for 4 years with Dr Bob and working on weekends in an emergency centre realised that surgery was her passion and left to work along side an orthopeadic surgical specialist for 4 years.
Kylie moved to Queensland for a while and worked at a large emergency, medical and specialist centre but got to home sick from family not the cold weather, so moved back to Melbourne.
Kylie joined the Ultimate team when opened in 2011 and excited to be working alongside Dr Bob again after coming from maternity leave.
Kylie has 2 children Abbey and Declan and 2 four legged pets “Floyd” a Rotti and a very cheeky Saint Bernard!
Mel came to Ultimate Veterinary Clinic after working at a small animal practice in the bayside suburbs for 6 years.
Mel is the proud mum of a Standardbred horse named Odette, an American Staffy named Rambo and 4 cats, Zook, Harmony, Hunter and Toulouse.
In her spare time, Mel likes to go to the footy (North Melbourne supporter), go horse riding and dancing.
Emma started working with us for work placement late 2017 for her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing, and has now joined our team for the rest of 2018 to complete her course. She is super excited to be learning and working with the team as well getting to know all of our clients while becoming qualified. At home Emma has 3 dogs, Ellie a Border Collie, Jax a Rottweiler X Kelpie and Charlie a rescue greyhound. In her spare time if she’s not with her dogs you’ll find her playing Netball or out running.
Amy has been nursing for over five years starting at Ultimate Vet over one year ago. Amy has four fur babies at home 3 Aussie Bulldogs named Manuka,Maple,Hulk and a pug named Chopper. Amy has a great passion for canine reproduction which she has helped breed bulldogs and Dogue De Bordeaux’s nearly all her life. Amy is also involved in Mini Bulldog Rescue Group who rescue bulldogs and help rehome them which she has been helping for over one year, Hence her love for the breed so much.
In her spare time Amy loves to catch up with friends and take her dogs out on adventures to the country.
Priscilla is a qualified vet nurse and has been nursing for 3 years. She loves her job and takes it very serious.
She is always willing to help anywhere possible and make sure her clients are always happy with the service provided. This is her dream job and she couldn’t be happier, she has a lot of experience with animals and continues to want to learn more.
Priscilla has a rainbow lorikeet that she rescued named Johnny and a teacup Maltese named Pupa who she spends all her time with. In her spare time, she enjoys relaxing and doing spontaneous things with her partner and Pupa that she loves very much.
Trainee Veterinary Nurse
Bec joined our team mid 2016, starting her dream job working with animals. She is very keen to learn new and exciting things here at Ultimate, and is looking forward to providing the best care to our clients and their four legged pets. This is her first job in this industry, and is loves working with the team here.
Bec has a Border Collie X Blue Heeler, Rylee. In her spare time, she loves to take Rylee to the beach, and play around with her.
